The Communications Agency (TCA) has an immediate opening for a Public Relations/Marketing Intern. The opportunity offers hands-on experience in a rapidly growing Public Relations and integrated marketing firm. TCA seeks self-starters, open to gaining broad experience and sharing new ideas. TCA exposes employees to entertainment, corporate and restaurant publicity and public relations, marketing and business development. What is an Internship? Qualifications:
" Integrity and honesty a must
" strong verbal and written communication skills; displays effective writing skills;
" displays leadership and strong decision making skills; able to work in a team and independent setting;
" detail oriented and conscientious; requiring little follow-up;
" experience with or interest in Entertainment Public Relations, Publicity and Event Marketing or Special Events
" ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
" candidate displays a high level of achievement within his/her chosen field.
Desired Attributes:
" pending or earned degree in public relations, communications and/or marketing
" self-starter with ability to work independently and virtually
" excellent interpersonal skills
" excellent writing skills.
General Responsibilities:
" Data collection, analysis and research regarding the spirits, entertainment and business environment;
" Special Events duties: Conceptualize events, Event Case Tracking and Management
" Vendor Selection and Follow-Up
" Compile reports and articles
" Populating media lists
" Pitch to the media
" Providing web content
" Interaction with vendors
" Provide administrative support for field-dispatched colleagues;
" Author news releases, media advisories, talent biographies, newsletters, blogs and web content
" Coordinate with film, television, and nonprofit contacts (BET, MTV, VH1, etc)
" Provide project support for events staff
" Collaborate to produce winning proposals; includes research, writing and analysis.
" Administrative duties: filing, maintaining talent rosters, maintaining corporate newsletter
